Destination: Delafield

Ever feel like your city is the best? Over all the other cities you could ever travel to, there is just something so special about your city that you love coming back to it.

To me, Delafield is absolutely my favorite city. It has so many hidden perks that most people driving through would never know about!

To start with, we have a state park! Lapham Peak State Park has so many things you can do at it. In summer, you can hike all through it, to the tower, to the butterfly garden, and through so many different trails. You also can tent camp, and have parties or celebrations in a building you can rent out. There are ponds you can see wildlife at, and so many beautiful flowers. In winter, you can ski, snowshoe, or hike through it!

If you are ever passing through Delafield in the morning or afternoon, make sure to stop at Lumber Inn for an amazing breakfast or lunch. They have breakfast sandwiches (my go-to breakfast), pancakes (especially their delicious chocolate chip pancakes), and eggs (any way you can think of cooking one). They also have so many other options if you want something else.

If you just want a cup of coffee or smaller lunch, head to Great Harvest Bread! They make the best breads and their coffee is so delicious. If you haven’t yet, try their cinnamon chip bread. You can thank me later.

Heading on vacation and forgot to get your nails done? We have a nail salon here right in town! K Nails does an amazing job and the staff is so nice and friendly! They are located right on Genesee Street between Element Style Boutique and Steven Paul Design Jewelers. If you want to see something really cool (and a little creepy), walk into Steven Paul Jewelers and ask to see the Eye Ring (made from a glass eye).

If you are here visiting friends or family and want to pick up a little hosting gift, check out the many boutiques located here! Element Style Boutique; Main Street Boutique; Bliss Boutique; or NextDoor Boutique.

Another hidden perk that most people don’t know about is that Daybreak (the mobile gas station) has an incredible deli inside that serves Boars Head meat and cheese and they taste incredible. They have freshly made salads, sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, and so much more. I personally love their Chicken Caesar Salads.

So does this make you want to visit Delafield? If not, here are just a few other perks.

In Delafield we have a War Memorial Trail that you can walk along the river, all the way from Cushing Park (named after the Cushing brothers who served in the wars) to the bridge where you can cross over the river and continue walking further into town.

We also have the Delafield Hotel that you can have your wedding at, and plenty of salons where you can get your hair all done up for the wedding.

Delafield has been described as a “Hallmark movie-looking town,” and I completly agree. The buildings are almost all older and they fit so nicely together, as they were built by Lang (the old owners of the town).

Come see an amazing city and join me in loving this city and all of its hidden perks so much!
