Destination: Delafield

Ever feel like your city is the best? Over all the other cities you could ever travel to, there is just something so special about your city that you love coming back to it.

To me, Delafield is absolutely my favorite city. It has so many hidden perks that most people driving through would never know about!

To start with, we have a state park! Lapham Peak State Park has so many things you can do at it. In summer, you can hike all through it, to the tower, to the butterfly garden, and through so many different trails. You also can tent camp, and have parties or celebrations in a building you can rent out. There are ponds you can see wildlife at, and so many beautiful flowers. In winter, you can ski, snowshoe, or hike through it!

If you are ever passing through Delafield in the morning or afternoon, make sure to stop at Lumber Inn for an amazing breakfast or lunch. They have breakfast sandwiches (my go-to breakfast), pancakes (especially their delicious chocolate chip pancakes), and eggs (any way you can think of cooking one). They also have so many other options if you want something else.

If you just want a cup of coffee or smaller lunch, head to Great Harvest Bread! They make the best breads and their coffee is so delicious. If you haven’t yet, try their cinnamon chip bread. You can thank me later.

Heading on vacation and forgot to get your nails done? We have a nail salon here right in town! K Nails does an amazing job and the staff is so nice and friendly! They are located right on Genesee Street between Element Style Boutique and Steven Paul Design Jewelers. If you want to see something really cool (and a little creepy), walk into Steven Paul Jewelers and ask to see the Eye Ring (made from a glass eye).

If you are here visiting friends or family and want to pick up a little hosting gift, check out the many boutiques located here! Element Style Boutique; Main Street Boutique; Bliss Boutique; or NextDoor Boutique.

Another hidden perk that most people don’t know about is that Daybreak (the mobile gas station) has an incredible deli inside that serves Boars Head meat and cheese and they taste incredible. They have freshly made salads, sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, and so much more. I personally love their Chicken Caesar Salads.

So does this make you want to visit Delafield? If not, here are just a few other perks.

In Delafield we have a War Memorial Trail that you can walk along the river, all the way from Cushing Park (named after the Cushing brothers who served in the wars) to the bridge where you can cross over the river and continue walking further into town.

We also have the Delafield Hotel that you can have your wedding at, and plenty of salons where you can get your hair all done up for the wedding.

Delafield has been described as a “Hallmark movie-looking town,” and I completly agree. The buildings are almost all older and they fit so nicely together, as they were built by Lang (the old owners of the town).

Come see an amazing city and join me in loving this city and all of its hidden perks so much!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

I cannot believe Mothers Day is almost here! If you are like me, you’re wondering what the heck happened to April! Well honestly, I’m not really sure where it went because it happened so fast.

Here at Element Style, the owner, Carrie, has been the most incredible work mom that I have ever had. So I want to start out this post by giving her a HUGE thank you. Thank you for your continued support and your kindness throughout these past four years that I have been fortunate enough to be a part of this incredible ES family.

And now I want to thank all you Moms out there that are reading this. Without all of you, this store would not be possible. We are so grateful for all of your support that you have given us over the past years and for your continued support during this time. Since we still cannot celebrate with you in person, I came up with a different type of gift for this year.

I wanted to share some easy drink recipes that are healthy and delicious! Whenever I make myself a smoothie or shake in the morning, I am always more productive than when I don’t. Being stuck in quarantine, these drinks also boost my mood so much and I am so much happier drinking these.

My first one is one that I have been drinking every day since I first tried it because it is so healthy and tastes amazing. Do any of you like Rocky Road Ice Cream? Well this Almond Chocolate Shake tastes just like Rocky Road to me! (without the marshmallows and with way less calories).

Almond milk is a skin-friendly alternative to dairy since it is packed with nutrients that work harder for your skin than a dairy milk does. It is low in fat but is very high in protein and fatty acids that give you energy. The almond milk I used for my drinks was an organic brand so that I steered clear of unnecessary added sweeteners.

The second drink is one I made up a few summers ago. It has only three ingredients! Watermelon, pineapple, and orange juice!

Watermelon is full of water and contains skin-feeding nutrients, which is great for replenishing and rehydrating your body and your skin. During summer, it is especially important to eat your water so that your body is staying hydrated all day. Fun Fact: watermelon contains vitamins A and C which gives the skin exactly what it needs to give off a radient and youthful glow, thanks to its collagen-boosting properties. The lycopene in the fruit also protects our sun from UV damage. What all that means is that watermelon is a must for summer!!

Orange juice is packed with vitamin C which strengthens the immune system, and can have calcium to strengthen teeth and bones.

This recipe is going to make you feel great and look great, while also tasting amazing.

I hope all of you are still doing great, whether you are in quarantine or whether you are working during these challenges time. The good news is, we are finally starting to see an end to all of this! Hopefully soon we can all celebrate and reopen the store!

Until then, make sure to tune into our Facebook Live Shopping Events on Monday and Wednesday nights at 7 pm.

We love you all so much and cannot wait to see your beautiful faces in the store.

Much Love from your ES Girl,

Lys

Our ES Team

Welcome!

We thought it was about time for you all to officially meet the members of the Element Style Team.

This amazing team would not be possible without our amazing leader, the owner of Element Style, Carrie. All of the amazing clothes and accessories you see in the store is her doing, and she does an incredible job keeping the store looking cute and trendy. Carrie is always trying to stay up to date with styles and trends, which lead up to our big store renovation in January 2020! Carrie also has created her own clothing line, In My Element, which are pieces that she personally would wear. At our store you may also see Carries husband, Michael, as he is a huge helper behind the scenes.

Alyssa has been a huge part of the ES team ever since she started working at the store back in 2016 when we were still at the old location on Milwaukee Street. Alyssa is a business student at UW-Whitewater, where she will be graduating in December 2020 with a Bachelors in General Management. Alyssa would love to one day help run a boutique or clothing store. Alyssa is the writer of our Blog (yes I am writing in third person for this blog) and also helps with marketing and the website. She also has been helping model clothes for the Facebook Lives on Wednesday nights.

Sophia joined the ES team in 2017, when she started working at the old location on Milwaukee Street. Sophia is the amazing and talented daughter of Carrie. In our store, you can find Sophia’s own clothing line, Sophiesticated. Sophia is currently attending Madison Technical College, studying fashion merchandising. She helps with social media marketing and photoshoots, as well as Facebook Lives.

Sarah is another amazing part of our ES team. Sarah joined our team back in September 2017. You will most likely see Sarah at the store in the mornings during the week, as she is one of the amazing moms working here. Sarah does an incredible job keeping all sizes stocked on the floor for our customers to shop. She is always happy and loves to talk with our amazing customers. You will always see a smile on her face when you come in.

Sydney joined the ES team back in September 2018. Sydney is currently finishing up her last year at Waukesha South High School where she played volleyball and challenged herself in AP classes. She is looking forward to attending UW-Green Bay this fall where she will be studying Business.

Julia joined the ES team in November 2018. Julia will be graduating from Kettle Moraine High School, where she finished an amazing season of Golf, finishing 12th in the State! This fall, Julia will be attending UW-Madison where she will be studying Biology.

Josephine joined the ES team before she worked at the store. Before becoming an official ES girl, she occasionally came in to help her mom (Sarah) work, and learned the ropes through her mom. In June 2019, she officially became a member of the ES team, and she has always been a huge help when we needed models for the new clothing.

Terri joined the ES team in October 2019, and has been an amazing addition to the team. Terri loves helping customers find the perfect outfits, and is also always such a pleasure to work with. Terri is the other mom at the store, and is always more than happy to help in any way she can at the store. Originally, Terri was only hired to help with this past Holiday season, and if any of you have had the pleasure of meeting her, you will understand why we couldn’t let her go.

Hailey joined our ES team the same time Terri did, in October 2019. Hailey is finishing up her senior year at Arrowhead High School, and is excited to start her freshman year of college this fall at UW-La Crosse, where she will be studying psychology.

Now that you have officially met our ES team, come down to the store and meet us in person! We love getting to know our customers and we absolutely love helping you all find the perfect outfit or gift to purchase.

Love,

The ES Team
